"How do we get to Coral Gardens from the airport?"
By taxi. Its a 10 minute ride and the fare is around $23 each way. We will arrange for a taxi to meet you upon arrival.
"Are the beaches private or public?"
All beaches are public except for private islands where it is public up to the high water mark.
"Do I need a passport?"
Yes. US citizens should be aware that from January 2007 rules have changed and they will not be allowed back into the USA without a current passport. Visas are not required from most countries
"Are your rooms accessible during the day?"
Guests are welcome to come back during the day anytime
"What is Bahamian food like?"
Local food is based on peas and rice, macaroni and cheese served with ribs, chicken or conch.
Most restaurants cater for the international traveller.
"Do I need sunscreen?"
We are in the tropics so sun screen is recommended at a minimum of factor 15. If you are fair skinned then try 30+. Even when snorkeling or swimming the sun can burn so apply liberally.
"Should I bring insect repellent?"
Always useful to help reduce the risk of discomfort caused by mosquitoes or "no-see-ums" which can be around at dawn or dusk particularly. All windows have screens to ensure a peaceful nights sleep.
"What is the currency of The Bahamas?"
The Bahamian dollar; which is pegged to the US Dollar. You can pay with either Bahamian dollars or US dollars. Your change could be either in US or Bahamian
A deposit is required to confirm reservation. This can be made to either our US or UK bankers, as you prefer. The balance is due on arrival in either cash or travellers checks. We do not take credit cards (to keep our costs and prices as low as possible).
"Is there an ATM in Exuma?"
Yes. ATM's are available at the banks in George Town and also at the banks out of town
